recore residence - sedona, arizona
Designed and built in 2001, originally as the architect's own home, the home was sold in 2004 to James and Brenda Recore.
Michael and Mary Ellen Hadley spent approximately 3 years designing this home, including several trips to Santa Fe, NM, to study traditional southwestern adobe style architecture. The design evolved over time to this 2,800 square foot gem, set in the Soldier Pass area of Sedona.
The home contains 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, great room, kitchen, dining, and breakfast spaces, and features numerous built-in areas to display Navajo rugs and other Native American and southwestern art collected by the owners. Interior finishes include natural wood doors and windows, pine log vigas and wood planked ceilings, knotty alder cabinetry, and granite countertops.
