Dr. Dora Lee's pediatric dental office was designed and built in 2005 in Los Alamitos, CA. The office contains 1528 SF of space, and features a 2-chair treatment bay, 2 private quiet treatment rooms, reception room, business office, private office, sterilization, x-ray, and staff room. Restrooms were provided as part of the shell building.
The office space had an awkward long, narrow entrance hallway that was essentially non-usable. This otherwise wasted space was instead designed as an entrance "river", with soft curves, built-in bench seating, and flooring that conveys the idea of a flowing stream.
Since this was a start-up practice for Dr. Lee, a great deal of effort was spent in the design phase, to create an interesting and colorful space while adhering to a strict budget. With some simple yet effective uses of painted accents, the office looks professional while still staying within budget.
